Nominate: AU Youth Silencing the Guns Awards

African Union (AU) Office of the Youth Envoy has called for nominations for the Youth Silencing the Guns Awards.

The aim of the awards is to celebrate, recognise and support young Africans behind impactful peacebuilding initiatives that are building a culture of peace.

Benefits

  • Awardees will receive recognition for their work
  • Awardee will receive a grant of between $2,000 and $5,000 to support an existing peacebuilding project
  • Awardees will be featured on the African Union and partners’ platforms

Eligibility

  • The nominee must be between the ages of 15 and 35 by 30 November, 2020
  • The nominee must be a citizen of an African Union member state and living in the country
  • The nominee must fit in one of the six award categories and directly address one of the thematic areas
  • Nominee’s project must have demonstrated impact in peacebuilding and directly impact at least 300 people
  • Nominee’s complete contact information should provided
  • Nominee’s project must be apolitical in nature and must not be operated for profit
