Nigeria: TUPNI and NNPC Support PLWHA

As major cities and states across Nigeria continue to adhere to lockdown directives from the government, the Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) / National Petroleum Investment Management Service (NAPIMS) have joined resources to support People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Lagos with palliatives to help sustain them during the lockdown period.

The General Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, TUPNI, Mr Wokoma Ajukura, during the presentation of 750 bags of food items, said that they saw the need to provide support due to the challenges vulnerable groups face in terms of feeding and accessing treatment.

In her remarks, the Supervisor, Community Relations, NAPIMS, Mrs Bunmi Lawson, who represented the General Manager, said, ‘NNPC and its partners are committed to supporting any initiative that can alleviate the discomfort of Nigerians’.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA), Dr Monsurat Adeleke, who was also present commended the group’s effort for providing leadership and strategic direction for people living with HIV.
