What: Launch of Policy Report on Covid-19 Pandemic Response and Recovery Webinar
When: 09 July, 2020
Where: Online
The African Union Secretariat of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC), which fosters and consolidates partnerships between the African Union (AU) and civil society organisations, is collaborating with the Civil Society and Community Engagement Division of the African Development Bank (AfDB) to host a webinar for the launch of a policy report on Covid-19 response and recovery.
In line with its mandate to provide advice to the AU on matters of strategic importance to the
continent, ECOSOCC, in partnership with the AfDB, has developed an advisory report consolidating key policy proposals.
The launch webinar will highlight the central policy themes of the report and identify the most effective
means to deploy them as advocacy tools by civil society practitioners. The webinar will also seek to situate
the report within the ongoing policy debate on post Covid-19 recovery, as well as identify opportunities
to channel its key proposals into current or future policy-making at the national and continental levels.
Speakers will include the AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, H.E. Bineta Diop; the Executive Director MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation and the Emeritus Presiding Officer ECOSOCC, Mr. Richard Ssewakiryanga; Chairperson, ECOSOCC Cluster Committee on Gender and Women’s Development, Ms. Julie Kone; the Executive Director SDI and Chairperson, ECOSOCC Cluster Committee on Political Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai.
