Just when we dey try manage the fuel hike while food prices dey fly like airplane, we hear say our ogbonge former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai, don waka comot from All Progressives Congress (APC) go join Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Yes o! The same El-Rufai wey no dey fear to tok him mind, even if e go scatter ground, don carry him bag go meet SDP. Him talk say him go mobilise against President Bola Tinubu and him re-election for 2027.
APC sef no waste time to fire back, say El-Rufai ambition na ‘destined to fail’.
But wait first. Wetin concern us?
My people, while these political gladiators dey throw punch for newspaper and social media, make we ask ourselves: how this fight go take put food for our table? Whether na APC, PDP, SDP, or even OPC, e no concern us if dem no fit reduce the prices of food.
Na who go bring back the over 133 million Nigerians wey dey live inside poverty, according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)? Abi na who go employ the 33.3 percent youth wey no get work? No be which party person dey join go change our suffering. Na wetin dem fit do for common man go matter pass.
Na wetin El-Rufai wan prove?
E be like say El-Rufai don vex for APC because dem no give am ministerial slot. As e no get space for Tinubu government, e don decide say na SDP go be him new family. But wetin we never hear na how him plan to better our lives if e get power. E dey talk say e wan mobilise, but mobilise to do wetin?
If El-Rufai fit mobilise better plan to reduce cost of living, end ASUU wahala, and fix our electricity palaver, maybe we go listen. But if na just to dey fight Tinubu because of personal beef, abeg make him pack well.
For APC, no be new thing
APC people dey shake body dey shout say El-Rufai ambition na joke. But make dem no forget say 2027 dey come like tomorrow. If dem no deliver better governance now, na dem go use hand scatter their own re-election.
Nigerians no get patience again o. Fuel don turn firewood, and ordinary bag of rice go soon get police escort.
Shine your eye well well
Dem go fight, abuse each other, even change party like cloth. But no forget to check their track record. Na who work well suppose get our vote. No bi so?
Nigerians, make una demand accountability now. No wait till election time before you begin shout. Na now you go drag them make dem deliver on their promises. No be to dey defect go put food for our table.
Politicians sabi act movie. Today dem go hug, tomorrow dem go fight. Focus on the real issues like unemployment, food prices, and quality education.
Finally, as El-Rufai dey waka out of APC, we no go cry or clap. After all, na the same politicians wey promise us change we never see. Whether APC, PDP, or SDP, our problem no be their party card. If dem truly care, make dem give us better governance.
