The World Food Programme (WFP) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Capacity Assessment (LCA) and Data Analysis Officer.

WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the lca.global mailbox and function as help desk for WFP Country Offices (COs) and Regional Bureaux (RB) and assessors who have questions regarding LCAs
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on LCAs received from WFP COs
  • Ensure LCAs are approved through the WFP approval process
  • Upload the LCA updates to the Confluence platform
  • Update the LCA tracking tool with current LCA status for global reports, including proactively tracking and overseeing ongoing assessments to give visibility on the assessment pipeline, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of LCA statuses, and that prioritisation of LCAs are up to date
  • Work with the Rome GIS team for the updating of any logistical infrastructure maps required
  • Ensure current LCAs meet the minimum level of informational requirements
  • Contact COs for any gaps which may exist
  • Liaise with private sector partners and humanitarian partners on collection of information relevant for the LCAs
  • Work with the Head of Information Management on continuous review and recommendations for potential changes to the LCA process and form, developing findings into future investment cases and considering the long-term strategic requirements of the tool and possible integration with other tools
  • Perform logistics data analysis and studies as required

Requirements

  • University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years, minimum, of work experience in logistics or humanitarian fields are desirable
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required
  • Proficiency in French or another second UN languages is a distinct advantage
