The African Union Commission (AUC) is seeking to fill the position of Director of Protocol.

The African Union is a continental body consisting of 55 member states.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science, or Diplomacy, or a related field
  • 15 years, minimum, of relevant work experience, with eight years at the managerial level and five years at supervisory level
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Communication, report writing and presentation skills
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Knowledge and working understanding of AU policies, strategies and work processes
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications and AU computer programmes
  • Fluency in one of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish)
  • Fluency in another AU language will be a plus
