The African Research Fellow Programme has opened applications for the African Research Fellowship 2024/2025.
The fellowship programme aims to empower African researchers with extensive research experience to engage in Earth Observation (EO) research and development activities relevant to the EO Africa Initiative.
Benefits

- Support to obtain visa through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Receive €3,000 travel support
- Receive Standard International Research Fellow salary (circa €2500 for 12 months)
- Get maximum ceiling of €2,000 for scientific network activities
Eligibility
- Applicants should have a PhD (or master’s degree with extensive research experience) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience in using Python and developing Jupyter Notebooks
- Fluency in English and/or French
- Ability to produce scientific papers to a high standard in English and to interact effectively with the international scientific community in English
