The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede has ordered immediate investigation of alleged bribery allegations imputed to some officers of the commission by Idris Okuneye(a.ka.a Bobrisky) in a viral video circulating across the country.

We call on the commission to investigate the allegations with utmost urgency, ensuring that no officer involved is shielded from accountability, and maintain transparency by keeping the public informed on the progress and outcome of the investigation, ensuring trust in the process.

Unemployment up by 5.3% as CBN hikes interest rate to 27.25% – Vanguard

The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, NBS, yesterday, announced that Nigeria’s unemployment rate grew by 1.2 percentage points to 5.3 per cent year-on-year, YoY.

In light of the alarming rise in Nigeria’s unemployment rate, it is clear that immediate and decisive action is needed. We call on the Tinubu-led government to prioritise economic recovery and job creation through targeted policies that support small and medium enterprises, promote investment in critical sectors, and create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

Senate resumes, urges action on economic security challenges – The Guardian 

At the resumption of plenary, yesterday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio called for immediate and decisive action to address worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity.

Besides urging for action, we urge the Senate to call on the executive to introduce and implement comprehensive policies that tackle inflation, stimulate job creation, and strengthen local industries. The Senate should also rigorously oversee government expenditures to ensure transparency and accountability.
