Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of World Vision humanitarian engagement including setting up appropriate strategies, structures
• Ensure quality staffing and resources for disaster risk reduction
• Work towards emergency preparedness response, rehabilitation and transition work, in line with national office priorities
• Ensure World Vision disaster management standards is met
• Work in line with the emergency management systems and internationally recognised humanitarian requirements

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in International Development, Disaster Management, Business management, Development sciences or other relevant field
• Seven years, minimum, in operational humanitarian experience with five years, minimum, in a leadership role, preferably in Africa
• Direct experience and proven success in managing humanitarian interventions in complex settings, preferably in West Africa context
• Strong people management skills with experience leading teams
• Fluency in French and good proficiency in English. Basic knowledge of Arabic a plus
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 percent of the time
