Malawi: Rotary Club Donates Motorbikes to NGO

Rotary Club of Lilongwe has donated three motorbikes to Children of the Nations, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), in Malawi.

The donation was made on behalf of Rotary Club of Belleveau, Seattle, United States of America.

Speaking during the donation, Rotary Club of Lilongwe President, William Matambo, said his organisation appreciates the efforts of Children of the Nations in taking care of the welfare of children in the country.

‘Children of the Nation made contact with Rotary club of Belleveau and through that partnership the club raised $6,000 to buy the three motorbikes that we are donating today’, Matambo said.

‘This is an important event because Children of the Nations has been there complementing government efforts in ensuring that children, especially orphans and the underprivileged, have access to quality education and good life’.

Receiving the motorbikes, Children of the Nations Country Director, Hopeson Khondiwa, said, ‘The motorbikes will go a long way in helping our facilitators in their outreach programmes…’, he said.

The NGO says it is dedicated to raising children out of poverty and hopelessness so that they can become leaders who transform nations.
