Active Girls Initiative Centre (AGIC) has donated writing materials to Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations (PSLCE) candidates at Phingo Primary School in Chikwawa, Malawi.
Procurement Officer for AGIC), Flavia Siliya, said the organisation thought about assisting the candidates considering the school’s brilliant performance.
‘We are here to support these pupils for them not to struggle when undertaking their national exams’, Siliya said.
‘Apart from piloting our activities here, we are also impressed with how the school is doing despite being in a very remote area’.
She urged girls to desist from premarital sex and focus on their education.
Head Teacher Stain Grant commended AGIC for the gesture.
‘The writing materials are a need. Most learners come from poor families’, he said.
Grant also said that the school was doing well academically comparing to other schools in Chikwawa district, calling on other organisations to emulate the example set by AGIC.
