The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Project Manager.
UNOPS’ mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Develop, complete and update implementation plan(s)
- Implement the approved plan (including the establishment of milestones) within tolerances set by the project board
- Prepare and issue regular project and/or financial reports in accordance with partner and UNOPS requirements for reporting
- Regularly review project status, evaluating performance criteria (scope, cost, schedule and quality)
- Develop stakeholder profiles and facilitate the formulation of stakeholder engagement strategies
- Establish solid working relationships with the project board (executive, senior users and senior suppliers), client and key stakeholder activities, progress, exceptions
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure projects comply with audit requirements
- Work with procurement/purchasing staff to ensure effective interface with suppliers’ quality systems
- Prepare and issue regular project and/or financial reports in accordance with partner and UNOPS requirements for reporting
- Regularly review project status, evaluating performance criteria (scope, cost, schedule and quality)
- Develop stakeholder profiles and facilitate the formulation of stakeholder engagement strategies
- Establish solid working relationships with the project board, client and key stakeholders
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced degree
- Five years of progressive experience in infrastructure project development and management, with focus on monitoring, reporting, development and coordination in either public or private sector organisations
- Experience working with UN or international organisation (desirable)
- Experience in supervising and construction activities will be a plus
- PRINCE2 foundation and Prince 2 Practitioner certifications (desirable)
- Fluency in English (writing, reading and speaking)
