Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the role of Information Technology (IT) Manager.
MSF, rendered in English as Doctors Without Borders, is a humanitarian medical non-governmental organisation of French origin best known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise security programme for the Johannesburg and Cape Town offices
- Develop information technology security, to provide consistent policies regarding information (IT) security, roles, and responsibilities of personnel using and maintaining computer resources, electronic communications, and Internet access in the performance of job function
- Develop and implement a user-centric methodology to raise users’ awareness of the Information Management Security System (ISMS)
- Implement processes to enable detection, identification, and analysis of I.T. security threats and vulnerabilities
- Implement an automated tool-based vulnerability management framework
- Responsible for a high-level ICT infrastructure and security in MSF SA
- Design or supervise the design of architecture and I.T. solutions for network, security, hosting, and disaster recovery plan
- Identify technical solutions and define the technical standards
- Ensure the operation, optimisation, and development of the office infrastructure, i.e., hardware, servers, network, back-up, phone system, voice and data communication, video, and teleconference system
- Provide strategic vision in ICT management to the management team
- Develop ICT long-term strategy as well as an annual action plan
Requirements
- Five years, minimum, of relevant I.T. management experience
- Three years, minimum, of experience in people management/staff supervision
- Experience in I.T. administration, I.T. strategy work, management of I.T. office networks, and cloud-based environment
- Experience with video conference systems (hardware and software)
- Interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security, and the applications/services they enable
- Mastering formal and informal project management techniques
- Planning and organising activities ahead of time and anticipating necessary resources
- Ability to resolve hardware technical problems
- Excellent communicative skills, oral and written
