Applications for the annual East African Photography Award (EAPA) are open to citizens from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
Each year, Visura invites photographers to share multi-image stories on any topic that they find interesting, and the judges look not only at the individual images but also at the overall story’s quality and relevance.
The award was created to spotlight documentary photography that focuses on people and cultures from the perspective of East African citizens.

Eligibility
- Open to all photographers from 18 years of age who are citizens of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia
- The judging panel and any family members cannot enter the contest
- All entries must have been taken between 01 August, 2018, and 01 August, 2020, and must be submitted by 01 August, 2020.
- Each entrant can submit up to two stories
- For each story, a minimum of ten, and a maximum of 20 photographs should be submitted
- Entrants must be the original author of the image(s)
