The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the role of Grant Specialist.
DRC provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Responsibilities
- Ensure the contractual monitoring of each grant in the ERP system
- Support project managers in the organiSation of project launch, review and closure meetings in order to highlight inter-project components aimed at reproducing good practices and strengthening synergies between projects
- Support project managers to ensure operational compliance of grants with donor guidelines and regulations in the areas of support functions
- Follow up on external reporting dates according to DRC contractual commitments and communication with members of the DRC team in Niger and at the regional office
- Support project managers in the production of internal reports to monitor the progress of projects
- Lead the development of high-quality external reports for sharing with funders
- Organise or facilitate the training of teams on logical frameworks, the development of proposals and/or reports
- Coordinate with the MEAL department for the development of tools and monitoring and evaluation reports in connection with contractual commitments
- Support project managers in the development and submission of implementation protocols (PME)
- In close collaboration with the senior management and coordination team and members of the programme team, lead the development and/or review of concept notes, project proposals and amendments
- Participate in project development meetings
- Carry out or facilitate the mapping of donors at national and regional levels
- Support DRC’s partnership strategy in Niger, support project managers in drawing up and signing sub-grant contracts with partners
- Produce communication documents (newsletter, project sheets, mission presentation documents, website update, beneficiary testimonials, etc.)
- Represent the organisation at internal and external meetings
- Manage the resources (material and financial) made available for the activities of the department and provide supporting documents on time
- Comply with and respect all procedures (administrative, HR, finance and logistics) in force and current conditions as stipulated in the DRC code of conduct and the internal regulations governing DRC staff
- Respect and ensure compliance with the procedures in force at DRC as well as the requirements of the donors
- Show flexibility in order to meet the imperatives and instruction of supervisor for the needs of the service at all times
- Perform all other tasks apart from those mentioned above
Requirements
- Bachelor or master’s degree in International Development/Development Studies, International Relations, Economics, Political Science/Public Affairs, or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of experience in a similar position (grant management) within an international NGO
- Knowledge of donor rules and procedures (BHA, ECHO, European Union, UN donors, etc.)
- Proven experience in requesting funding from institutional donors
- Proven experience in capacity building and training of national staff and partners
- Proven experience in external representation (donors, clusters)
- Experience in managing and/or implementing emergency programmes and consortia will be a plus
- Excellent command of French (reading, speaking, and writing) and professional English proficiency
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Internet)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
