Apply: DAAD DIES UNILEAD Course 2021

The German Academic Exchange Service/Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) has opened applications for the DIES UNILEAD Course 2021.

Offered by the University of Oldenburg, the course enables young managers at higher education institutions in developing countries to tackle challenges.

The course is designed to focus on Project Management, Strategic Management and Academic Leadership and Human Resource Management.

Developed in 2008, UNILEAD is part of the DIES programme (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies), which is jointly coordinated by the DAAD and German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) since 2001 and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Benefits

  • Course cost is approximately €5,500
  • Flights to and from Germany and ground travel to and from Oldenburg
  • Accommodation, including breakfast, and some joint meals at the two contact phases in Germany
  • Emergency health insurance during the contact phases

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have been holding a university management position with managerial and personnel responsibilities no longer than four years in one of planning, quality management; human resources, and continuing education; task force for university reform project; and staff development units
  • Active and excellent English language skills (speaking and writing)
  • Applicants should be university leaders between the ages of 30 and 40
  • Applicants should hold at least a master’s degree
