Apply: AFSA Small Project, Support Fund

The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) has announced a call for application for the Small Project and Support Fund (SPSF).

The aim of the fund s to empower communities to act and participate in their own development through actions that are designed, implemented and owned by the communities themselves.

The grant provides support in response to social services and emergency situations, mainly focusing on protecting the vulnerable, marginalised and indigent individuals and communities.

Benefits

  • The maximum grant amount is 75,000 ZAR per funded activity

Eligibility

  • Open to non-governmental organisations, groups and collectives working with the following causes that relate to human rights: violation of environmental rights and negative footprint on the environment, gender-based violence, land redistribution, xenophobia and Violence against immigrants and people on the move, and right to security
  • Open to organisations not being supported and funded by (AFSA)
  • Open to organisations not being funded by Bread for the World (BfdW)
  • Organisations that are not part of government structures or not in any way linked to government can be funded
  • Organisation must not have an annual budget of more than R1.5m
  • Project should not require a ‘top up’ to an existing project
  • The grant cannot be used to support any HIV/AIDS related work
