Action Against Hunger (AAH) is seeking to fill the position of Head of Department, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
AAH drives forward understanding of how to predict, prevent and treat life-threatening hunger.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of MEAL systems for programmes and projects, both new and established, ensuring efficiency in project deliverables
- Provide technical support to the MEAL team on the implementation of an effective system to monitor progress, outcomes, impacts and successes of project activities and performance at all levels
- Ensure overall technical support and accountability for the implementation of AAH MEAL systems
- Support proper and timely reporting of MEAL activities in collaboration with other departments
- Build the capacity of MEAL team through training, mentorships and coaching to ensure quality control and successful implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities
- Ensure capitalisation and effective implementation of knowledge management systems for all project activities in the mission
- Represent the organisation at national level and promote AAH’s technical viewpoints, guidelines and methods of work
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Statistics, Demography or a related field, with five years, minimum, of experience working with NGOs
- Two years, minimum, of experience in coordination-level position
- Proven management and coordination skills (HR, projects, and stress management)
- Proven ability to translate analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy
- Knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data management techniques, including proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages, SPSS, STATA, etc
- Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to write clear and engaging reports
- Experience in nutrition, health, WASH and/or food security and livelihood programming.
