Zimbabwe: AoHF Donates Specialised Beds

Zimbabwe’s first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa, through her Angel of Hope Foundation (AoHF), has provided specialised beds to some hospitals in the country.

Beds were donated to hospitals in Bulawayo, Midlands, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central provinces as the country battles the Covid-19 pandemic and other ailments.

The second wave of the pandemic has killed many citizens and the hospitals are full to capacity with Covid-19 cases.

Minister of State for Bulawayo Province, Judith Ncube, thanked the first lady and her foundation for the donation.

‘We are so grateful for these specialised beds which we are receiving as Bulawayo’, Ncube said.

‘We called the hospitals to collect them because we want all donations to be handed over to the intended beneficiaries as soon as possible.

‘We also want those donating to see that as Bulawayo we deliver all that is donated which will also make the recipients glad’.

Also, the acting Chief Executive at Mpilo Central Hospital, Professor Solwayo Ngwenya, said that the beds will assist hospitals to improve patient care.

He said, ‘The beds will help us care for patients during this Covid-19 pandemic and years later because they are very durable’.

The Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister in Mashonaland East, Aplonia Munzverengwi, with the Mashonaland East Provincial Medical Director, Dr Paul Matsvimbo, expressed gratitude to the foundation.

They said the donation will go a long way to improve the critical care of their patients in the province.
