Ruth Eguono Olofin Adds another Year

The Programme Manager of CLEEN Foundation, Ruth Eguono Olofin, has added another year. She took to her Facebook page, saying, ‘An amazing year begins… Glory! Happy birthday Ruthie. Happy birthday Mummy Ds. Happy birthday Eguono. If I had a thousand tongues, they won’t be enough to praise and thank you Lord for keeping me to see this very day, this significant year…’.

Ruth is an expertise in security sector and governance with passion for civil-military relationship, accountability and gender inclusion. She has a bachelor’s degree in Adult Education and a master’s in Development Studies, majoring in Social Policy for Development. She has worked in various national and international organisations promoting women’s rights and gender in development. Ruth has worked on mitigating electoral violence, accountability in the justice and security sectors in Nigeria, and building strong and resilient communities in preventing and countering violent extremism.

Ruth has also worked as a Support Consultant with the Department for International Development (DFID) on the Justice for all Programme on External Accountability of the Nigerian Police Force and Oversight Bodies. She currently leads CLEEN Foundation’s security sector reform programme aimed at improving civil-military relations between civilians and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
