United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced a call for nominations for the Nansen Refugee Award 2021.
The award is designed to recognise and celebrate extraordinary persons who support refugees, internally displaced and stateless people.
Benefits
- Laureate receives USD 150,000 to invest in humanitarian work
- Four regional winners from each global region are selected and honoured with certificates
Eligibility
- Open to any individual, group of people or organisation that has displayed extraordinary humanitarian work on behalf of refugees, displaced or stateless peoples
- Former and current UNHCR staff members, including United Nations Volunteers (UNVs) working for UNHCR offices, are ineligible
- Self-nominations strongly discouraged
