The flooding that hit Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, in the wee hours of yesterday has submerged hundreds of houses and destroyed lots of properties.

We urge the government and the Ministry of Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Services Disaster Management and Social Development to swing into action in providing immediate relief and assistance to the displaced families and  in Maiduguri.

Governors in the southwest, both past and present, have voted more than N266 billion for the construction of new airports despite the non-viability of the many existing ones.

We call on southwest citizens to demand transparency and accountability from their governors on the viability and economic justification of these airport projects before more funds are allocated.

Subsidy removal will free up resources for critical projects, says Tinubu – Guardian 

President Bola Tinubu has said his administration decided to remove the subsidy on premium motor spirit (PMS) to free up resources for critical investments in the country.

The Tinubu administration must ensure full transparency and accountability in the allocation and use of funds saved from the subsidy removal, guaranteeing that these resources are directed towards critical projects that benefit all Nigerians.
