Okuama leaders: More stakeholders condemn death in army detention – Vanguard
The Delta State Government has said that it had not received confirmation from the military on the death of the 81-year-old Treasurer of Okuama Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Pa Dennis Okugbaye.
This is coming as more stakeholders have condemned the death of the octogenarian, who reportedly died in Nigerian military detention on Tuesday, six days after the President General of the community, Pa James Oghoroko, also died in detention.
We call on the Delta State Government and the Defence Headquarters to conduct a transparent investigation into the deaths of Pa Dennis Okugbaye and Pa James Oghoroko while in detention, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. We also call on the military to ensure the protection of human rights to prevent further abuses in military custody.

Residents of Kuchibuyi community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have alleged negligence by both the FCTA Administration and the Bwari Area Council governments to their plights.
The residents are lamenting, among others, the absence of basic amenities in their community.
We urge the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), the Bwari Area Council, and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to urgently address the dire state of education in Kuchibuyi community. Immediate action is needed to ensure these children receive quality education in a safe and conducive environment.
