WOWBii Interactive (WI), the manufacturer of Interactive Flat Panel Displays (IFDP), is collaborating with state governors across Nigeria to provide virtual meeting infrastructures, thus mitigating the spread of Covid-19.
WI is achieving this with BUDDRoom, its technology solution that enables in-room and virtual annotation, wireless casting, and face-to-face interactive telepresence for governors to carry on with their leadership responsibilities amidst the Covid-19 crisis.
In a released statement, the company said, ‘This intervention provided exclusively by [WI] is necessary to mitigate [the] effects of cessation or limitation of physical contacts, in line with World Health Organisation’s (WHO) social distancing recommendation, and to flatten the growth curve of the lethal [Covid-19] pandemic.
‘Beyond this, the adoption of immersive virtual meetings and digital interactions have been an evolving paradigm within global businesses and leading government establishments, who are aligning with operational best practice in collaborative interactivities and video conferencing’.
The indigenous solution has already been implemented by the office of the Vice President, while Borno, Lagos, Plateau and Nasarawa states have installed the equipment.
The Chief Executive Officer of WI, Mrs Terae Onyeje, said, ‘The [Covid-19] pandemic is accelerating the adoption of immersive virtual interactivity in Nigeria. We are pleased that the federal and state governments are using these times to embrace and entrench tech innovations in governance’.
