Vice presidential candidate for the Ghana election, Professor Jane Opoku-Agyemang, says her party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), will continue to work with civil society organisations (CSOs) to develop the nation.

Development Diaries learnt that Opoku-Agyemang, who is running with former president, John Mahama, for the presidency, said during a meeting with IMANI Ghana, a think-tank organisation, that the NDC would ensure that CSOs are carried along in decision making.

She noted that NDC believes the engagement of CSOs and the people will be the hallmark for national development.

‘We will continue to sustain the dialogue between CSOs and political parties and work together to factor the voices of all Ghanaians into the national conversation as we work together for development’, she said.

Also at the meeting were participants from the Africa Centre for Energy Policy, Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), and the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG).

Mahama is challenging President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the highest political office in Ghana.

The election, according to the Electoral Commission of Ghana, will be held on 07 December, 2020.
