The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) Prizes recognise outstanding individuals and research teams from Africa and Europe who have made significant achievements in their research field. Additionally, the awardees will have made major contributions to strengthening clinical research capacity in Africa and supporting South-South and North-South networking.
The Outstanding Female Scientist Prize is awarded to excellent world-class female scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa.

- The prize consists of a recognition trophy and a cash prize of €20,000
Eligibility
- The prize is restricted to female scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and has no age restriction
- Contestant must have been involved in research and innovation activities in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Contestants should have made a significant scientific contribution and built measurable impactful research capacity through training and mentorship for the future generation of researchers/scientists in Africa
