What: Health Awareness Event of Medihelp West Europe, West Africa (WEWA)
When: 17–18 April, 2020
Where: Nungua, Accra, Ghana
In a statement made by the President and Co-founder of Medihelp WEWA, Frank Agyemang-Prempeh, it was stated that the event will bring together actors from western Europe and West Africa to organise international solidarity projects in the field of healthcare.
‘The motive of the event is to deepen the consciousness about some health conditions and create more awareness about MediHelp, its objectives in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal Three (SDG 3) which states “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages”’, Frank Agyemang-Prempeh said.
On the first day of the event, there will be a panel discussion and a debate by the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) to air perspectives on the challenges in the way of achieving SDG 3 and viable solutions to those challenges. On the second day, a health walk will precede the day’s activities. There will then be an health talk and health screenings. At the end of the event, the organisation hopes to have reached about 1,000 persons in the Nungua Municipality.
MediHelp WEWA has done several projects in Africa and across the world, in consonance with their mission. They have provided support to some health facilities, visited and donated some goods to orphanages, engaged communities in health screening and health education and sensitised important audiences through the media, amongst other activities undertaken in the pursuit of their long term goal, SDG 3.
