Apply: WFP Logistics Associate

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Associate.

WFP works to ensure the most vulnerable populations, especially women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

Responsibilities

  • Support government in food laboratory project design and implementation
  • Support the government in establishing technical requirements of advanced food laboratory equipment from international suppliers/traders
  • Attend regular meeting with relevant government ministries related to laboratory rehabilitation project
  • Maintain close communication with Sudanese government food regulatory bodies like Federal Ministry of Health, Sudanese Standards Metrology Organisation (SSMO), Plant Protection Department, Ministry of Agriculture
  • Advise on the technical training and overall capacity strengthening essential requirements, keeping in view WFP operations and WFP food commodities
  • Work closely with government food laboratory analysts and specialists and provide support relevant to food laboratory project rehabilitation
  • Establish and document SOP and work instruction of all food laboratory processes

Requirements

  • Secondary school education and post-secondary certificate in Food Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or a related field
  • Five years, minimum, of relevant experience in food laboratory operations (physical, chemical and microbiological laboratory)
  • Experience in working with government health, food safety ministries is essential
  • Knowledge of implementation of ISO 17205 accreditation in food laboratory will be a plus
  • Good analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Readiness to travel across Sudan
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic
