The Graduate School of Business (GSB), University of Cape Town, has opened applications for the Power Sector Investment and Market Transitions in Africa PhD Scholarship 2021.
The aim of the programme is to create ideas that deepen and advance understanding of management and to develop innovative, principled, and insightful leaders.
PhD students are to conduct full-time research in Chinese investments in the power sector in Africa or distributed energy resources and power market transitions in Africa.
Benefit
- A sum of R283,000 which may be renewed for two years depending on satisfactory progress
- Further research stipends may also be available
Eligibility
- Applicants should have a first-class academic record
- A master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrate ability and commitment to independent research in a small and diverse team
- Preference will be given to black South African students
