Responsibilities

• Support effective and accurate financial resources management and oversight
• Support the implementation of operational strategies and procedures
• Project budget management and control of project accounts
• Support to the close monitoring of sub-recipients and other implementing partners
• Facilitation of knowledge building and sharing

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or professional accounting qualification from a nationally recognised institute of accountancy
• Bachelor’s degree combined with more than two years of qualifying experience in accounting and/or finance may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Qualified accountants from a nationally recognised institute of accountancy will have a distinct advantage
• Five years, minimum, of experience in providing financial management advisory and training services
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc)
• Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages
• Experience in handling of web-based management systems and ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft
• Experience of IPSAS and/or IFRS is required for external candidates
• Fluency in Portuguese (both written and verbal)
• Knowledge of English (both written and verbal)
