The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Financial Specialist
UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion.
Responsibilities
- Support effective and accurate financial resources management and oversight
- Support the implementation of operational strategies and procedures
- Project budget management and control of project accounts
- Support to the close monitoring of sub-recipients and other implementing partners
- Facilitation of knowledge building and sharing
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or professional accounting qualification from a nationally recognised institute of accountancy
- Bachelor’s degree combined with more than two years of qualifying experience in accounting and/or finance may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Qualified accountants from a nationally recognised institute of accountancy will have a distinct advantage
- Five years, minimum, of experience in providing financial management advisory and training services
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc)
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages
- Experience in handling of web-based management systems and ERP financials, preferably PeopleSoft
- Experience of IPSAS and/or IFRS is required for external candidates
- Fluency in Portuguese (both written and verbal)
- Knowledge of English (both written and verbal)
