Students and Young Professionals African Liberty Academy (SYPALA) is accepting applications from interested African youth within the age range of 18-30 for its 2015 workshop.
A flagship product of Ghana-based think tank IMANI Center for Policy and Education, SYPALA forms part of IMANI’s core objective of training a new corps of future visionaries and leaders who will carry the torch of liberty and blaze the trail of prosperity in the coming dawn of African renaissance. Since its inception in 2007, SYPALA has continuously honored its mission by successfully holding annual workshops in various strategic African countries, bringing together students and young professionals to deliberate on issues bordering Africa’s development.
SYPALA participants are given fresh and unconventional perspectives on African affairs and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to be relevant agents of change in their respective countries by connecting them to the thinkers and doers of the continent.
Focusing on politics and policy, the 4-day workshop of the 2015 edition SYPALA will take place in Accra, Ghana. Interested participants should kindly take note of the following.
Background on SYAPA 2015
Far from acknowledging their impotence when confronted with inextricable problems such as poverty, inequality, poor education, unemployment, flooding among many others, governments and their allies continue to obliviously increase policy proposals or introduce reforms most likely to have minimal impacts, or to some extent, no effects at all. It is more than critical for any young African youth of the new transformational generation interested in political and policymaking affairs to master the nuts and bolts of these issues. The 2015 edition of SYPALA will cover and equip participants with the necessary skills and understanding to efficiently operate in the political and policymaking space.
