Plan International is seeking to fill the role of Gender Coordinator.
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
Responsibilities
- Create, review and/or revise key technical documents in support of the project, including training, reports, programming guidelines, communications products, tools, training manuals and modules
- Ensure consistent and quality application of gender-equality-strategic goals through gender transformative WASH and nutrition approach
- Ensure consistent and high technical quality of project activities as delivered by Plan International and partner staff
- Identify and address needs for quality improvement on an ongoing basis
- Foster strong relationships and work closely with internal and external stakeholders on gender equality and health/CP sector
- Keep abreast of key policy changes and relevant external issues
- Ensure strong linkages with the governance and monitoring, evaluation and research (MER) unit within the project so that advocacy on gender and inclusion initiatives and reports are based on evidence
- Represent Plan International at meetings and events where necessary
- Design and deliver continues needs-based capacity building training and workshops to project staff and implementing partners
- Assume any other responsibility as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree (master’s degree or higher) in Gender Equality, Human Rights, Development Studies, or a related discipline
- Seven years, minimum, of experience working in the development sector, including field and management experience
- Advanced professional development and experience in gender equality and inclusion programming
- Excellent knowledge of child and women’s rights and gender justice, particularly relating to WASH, food and nutrition projects
- Significant experience leading gender equality, and inclusion in complex international organisations
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering workshops and training in gender equality and inclusion that are participatory and needs-based
- Compelling influencer and communicator, with ability to inspire, build consensus and bring people together around a common agenda
- Experience with a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including from policymakers and senior management to local government and implementing partners, as well as community leaders and beneficiaries
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, collaboration experience, creativity and willingness to innovate
- Experience drafting project reporting and monitoring project progress
