The Graduate School of Economics and Management Sciences (GEM) at the Stellenbosch University, South Africa, has called for applications for full-time PhD scholarship positions.
GEM, a unit in the dean’s office, is responsible for the full-time PhD programme of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.
The main objective of the graduate school is to provide a partially structured programme for full-time, residential doctoral education across all the departments of the faculty to greatly increase the faculty’s number of PhD graduates, broaden access to the doctoral education in economic and management sciences, and continuously develop and provide effective support structures for PhD studies within the faculty.
Benefits
- A maximum of R138, 000 per year for three years
Eligibility
- A master’s degree in the relevant field or, in exceptional circumstances, an equivalent qualification
- Candidates must have achieved a grade of 65 percent in their master’s programmes
- Candidates must be under 40 years of age when the programme commences in January
- Only applications in one of the faculty’s research themes will be considered
