Canon Collins Trust is receiving applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies in 2011 in South Africa in the fields of Human Rights and Social Justice.
The scholarships focus on the promotion of human rights, transparency or good governance.
Benefits
- Up to R80,000 for master’s programme at any South African university
- A return economy flight
- six months long of paid internship at a public interest law firm or an organisation working towards promoting human rights, transparency or good governance in Zimbabwe after the completion of course
- An opportunity to enhance academic and leadership skills through organised events and mentoring
Eligibility
- Be a resident national of Zimbabwe
- Applying for a full-time master’s course related to the fields of Human Rights, Democracy and Governance no longer, in duration, than 18 months at any South African university
- Be in possession of at least a second class degree (upper division) or equivalent or about to graduate in the year of application
- Be available to undertake a six months of long internship immediately after the completion of study
- Demonstrate commitment to apply skills and qualification to contributing towards positive change in Zimbabwe
- Preference will be given to recent graduates and professionals in early stages of their careers
