AQUITY Innovations is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Quality Improvement Officer.

AQUITY Innovations is a South Africa-based not-for-profit organisation established in 2010. The organisation’s mission is to promote access to quality health and social services through innovations and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sub-district TB quality improvement plan and logical framework
  • Develop project workplan for TB QI activities at sub-district level
  • Facilitate the development of quality improvement plans for facilities and hospitals in the sub-district
  • Facilitate the establishment of quality improvement teams at sub-district and facility levels
  • Conduct QI learning sessions and other relevant capacity building activities for sub-district managers, facility leaders and managers
  • Conduct QI capacity building activities for relevant TB health providers at community level on the model for improvement
  • Facilitate TB QI baseline assessments and QIPs in facilities
  • Monitor and support the implementation of QIPs and compile progress reports
  • Provide TB QI technical support to relevant managers at all levels
  • Mentor staff at facility level on TB QI implementation
  • Support and mentor data capturers  on data-related QI activities
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate sub-district TB, QI collaborative activities
  • Conduct regular data quality and clinical audits in collaboration with relevant team members
  • Conduct DR-TB quality audits and rapid assessments in the sub-district
  • Compile reports and provide feedback
  • Support facilities and sub-district in sustaining improvements

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing, Public Health or a related field, including experience working in DoH or Global Fund TB and HIV-related programmes
  • Demonstrated success in leading formal quality improvement activities at facility, sub-district or district level using proven models for QI is strongly preferred
  • Three years, minimum, of relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in the implementation of relevant TB, HIV and QI programme activities in South Africa
  • Proficiency in data analysis and use of data for programme quality improvement
  • Experience in conducting formal training programmes is a necessity
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English 
  • Excellent presentation skills and recent experience in conducting presentations
