Action Against Hunger is seeking to fill the role of Data Science Intern.
The organisation is a global humanitarian outfit that takes action against the causes and effects of hunger.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of trends and patterns using open-access secondary data sources available in the countries that can yield greater fidelity and more insight into the drivers of risk and potential avenues of intervention
- Support countries in data collection, mining or extracting usable data from valuable open data sources
- Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems for anticipatory action
- Process, clean, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Analyse large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
- Present results from data gathered using various data visualisation techniques and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, Statistics or a related degree
- Skills in data processing/management
- Self-starter who can work independently under pressure and
- Ability to manage competing priorities without direct supervision
- Advanced English language proficiency
