Mounting e-waste triggers health crisis in children – Vanguard

NIGERIA is drowning in a sea of electronic waste, e-waste. Medical experts have warned that the consequences could be fatal to Nigerians. The menace has also been fingered for environmental degradation, and part of the reasons why the economy remains weak.

We call on the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) to urgently intensify its enforcement of e-waste management regulations, establish stringent monitoring systems, and promote sustainable recycling initiatives to address the mounting e-waste crisis.

1.1m displaced as 77% of IDPs seek to return home, says NBS – The Guardian 

Borno State has been identified as having the highest number of internally displaced households in Nigeria, according to a survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

We call on the Borno State government to prioritise investments in security, education, healthcare, and livelihood programmes to restore hope and dignity to the IDPs.
