Nigeria: Leadway Gives Free Life Insurance Cover

Nigeria’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic has gained substantial relief support from well-meaning individuals and organisations. Donations both to the government and local communities have amounted to billions, and essential relief material has been distributed to vulnerable groups. In a recent development, Leadway Assurance Company Limited has taken the initiative of providing life insurance cover worth N5 billion to health workers fighting Covid-19.

In a statement issued by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Tunde Hassan-Odukale, the company said that it is leading other insurance companies to provide life insurance cover worth N5 billion for all frontline healthcare workers battling to curb the spread of Covid-19 and its effects. Hassan-Odukale said the company had made other donations before now, to the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA) Covid-19 Support Fund. He said that all donations made by his company align with their corporate values of service and customer focus.

The Managing Director’s statement went further to say, ‘We understand the magnitude of the risk taken by health workers who have elected to support the government to take care of Nigerians in the wake of a pandemic that is ravaging worldwide. We salute their tenacity, resilience and professionalism as they battle Covid-19, putting their lives on the line to ensure that Nigerians are adequately cared for during this period. We understand the weight of their duties and hope that this support reassures them, and indeed all Nigerians, that we are in this together’.

Leadway Assurance Company Limited is one of Nigeria’s foremost insurance service companies, with a reputation for service efficiency and customer reliability.
