The release of Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, on bail raises more questions about the ongoing investigation into the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Development Diaries reports that although Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry have been granted bail, the auxiliary nurse, Fisayo Ogedengbe, and Mohbad’s friend, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, are still in police custody.
Recall that the Lagos State government, in October, ordered a coroner’s inquest into the death of the 27-year-old singer.
Till date, the Lagos State Police Command has not announced the result of the autopsy conducted on the late singer.
The release of autopsy results in a homicide case plays a crucial role in the process of investigation, but in this case, the police seem to have gone silent.
There is a need for transparency at every step in this investigation. There are questions that need answers.
Sam Larry and Naira Marley were picked up as suspects; however, the Lagos State Police Command has failed to inform the public of its findings after detaining them for over a month.
Also, there has not been any detailed information on why they have been released on bail.
Transparency in the findings of such an investigation is essential for maintaining public trust and ensuring justice is served. The public has a right to know that a law enforcement agency is conducting thorough and unbiased investigations.
Transparency not only holds the police accountable for their actions but also provides reassurance to the public that the process is fair and impartial.
It helps prevent potential misconduct, cover-ups, or miscarriages of justice, which can have devastating consequences for all parties involved.
Development Diaries calls on the Lagos State Police Command to inform the public of the details of the autopsy report and also ensure transparency in the process as it evolves.
