The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Finance Assistant, Planning and Budgeting
The mission of UNOPS is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure, and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of analysis and support on the organisation wide processes for budgeting, forecasting, target setting and resource allocation
- Assist in preparation of analysis to support recommendations on key assumptions required for annual budgeting process
- Assist in the consolidation of UNOPS overall budget
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of budgets, including assisting preparation and quality assurance of reports and dashboards
- Assist in the implementation of administrative project and budget management processes, including assistance to administrative project closure
- Assist in preparation of analysis to support the development of financial and non-financial KPIs
- Assist in preparation of analysis on actual financial results to understand key business drivers and variances to budget/forecast
- Assist in preparation of analysis and support as required for discussions on UNOPS budget estimates
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation of policies, procedures, methods, tools and associated systems to ensure utility, applicability and efficacy
- Assist the head of financial planning and budgeting in other relevant tasks as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Business, Management or other finance-related field is strongly preferred
- Four years, minimum, of relevant work experience in finance
- Skilled in using Microsoft Word and/or G Suite
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Proficient knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable
- Knowledge of other UN working languages is an asset
