The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has opened applications for the Drug Abuse Prevention Centre (DAPC) Grant Programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of civil society to prevent drug abuse globally.
The UNODC, since 2012, has been awarding small grants to youth organisations working in low and middle income countries. The aim is to empower them to take more active roles in supporting the health and wellbeing of the youth populations.
With these grants, young people and youth organisations have successfully implemented prevention and awareness-raising activities in their schools and communities, guided by UNODC/WHO international standards on drug use prevention.
Benefits
- Minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $17,000
Eligibility
- Applicants should be organisations or institutions working with youth and can apply on behalf of a local youth group.
- Applicants should have relevant experience on substance use prevention, health promotion, youth empowerment or other related field
- Applicant should have the needed capability to administer grant
- An annual financial statement should be submitted together with a project proposal application
- A copy of the registration of the institution with the relevant government department should be submitted with a concept note application, to document that the organisation works on a not-for-profit basis
- Only novel proposals are considered
