The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development has opened applications for the Yousriya Loza-Sawiris Scholarship Programme.
The scholarship is a fully-funded programme for students seeking master’s degree in Development Practice (MDP) from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, USA.
It provides graduate-level students with the skills and knowledge required to better identify and address global challenges such as poverty, population, and climate change.
Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is an Egyptian charity organisation tied to the Sawiris family established in 2001 and a prominent institution of economic and social aid in Egypt.

Eligibility
- Be a citizen of Egypt
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a well-reputed academic institution in a related field of study
- Satisfy the entry requirements into the academic MDP programme
- Demonstrate an excellent professional and academic track record
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills (extracurricular activities/community work/entrepreneurial initiative)
- Demonstrate the inability to finance studies from own resources
- Previous coursework in mathematics, statistics, and economics (desirable)
- English language proficiency
- A valid Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score
