Apply: Sawiris Scholarship Programme

The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development has opened applications for the Yousriya Loza-Sawiris Scholarship Programme.

The scholarship is a fully-funded programme for students seeking master’s degree in Development Practice (MDP) from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, USA.

It provides graduate-level students with the skills and knowledge required to better identify and address global challenges such as poverty, population, and climate change.

​Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is an Egyptian charity organisation tied to the Sawiris family established in 2001 and a prominent institution of economic and social aid in Egypt.

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen of Egypt
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a well-reputed academic institution in a related field of study
  • Satisfy the entry requirements into the academic MDP programme
  • Demonstrate an excellent professional and academic track record
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills (extracurricular activities/community work/entrepreneurial initiative)
  • Demonstrate the inability to finance studies from own resources
  • Previous coursework in mathematics, statistics, and economics (desirable)
  • English language proficiency
  • A valid Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score
