• Undertake sub-national coordination of multi-functional and multisectoral teams across multiple-field offices and country office to ensure the timely, efficient and effective delivery of high quality ERRM interventions
• Maintain strong awareness of current humanitarian context across Sudan, particularly targeted operational areas
• Coordinate security and rapid needs assessments, following emergency events, and ensuring prompt preparation of alerts and reports
• Support decision-making processes
• Through close coordination with colleagues across departments, ensure the timely development of appropriate work plans, phased budgets, MEAL and procurement plans etc.
• Follow up with teams to ensure implementation according to the plan and budget, and guide teams to appropriately respond to any challenges affecting timely or relevant implementation
• Proactively track and follow up on fund utilisation of budgets
• Project, analyse, and review funding surpluses, gaps, underspending and overspends, if any, and ensure that appropriate mechanisms/strategies are in place to manage funding
• Support recruitment and rapid deployment of ERRM team members, and liaise with HR to ensure safe yet timely recruitment procedures for additional staff
• Liaise with the emergency health team to mobilise health personnel
• Ensure timely inductions and training are provided to all staff, partners and volunteers, most especially in relation to safeguarding and PSEA
• Ensure appropriate prepositioning of stock for ERRM within targeted areas
• Coordinate with supply chain colleagues to ensure rapid procurement of goods, work and services in emergencies
• Ensure all programming is implemented in ways that are responsive to children and their communities
• Ensure appropriate complaints, feedback and response mechanisms are in place and functional within all intervention locations
• Actively engage and participate in sectoral meetings with local government officials, donors, UN and other NGOs to ensure humanitarian access and coordinate timely assessment and response
• Ensure appropriate MEAL activities are undertaken, and champion the integration of learning into improved ongoing programme implementation
• Develop transition/exit plans for responses to ensure ongoing appropriate support is provided to communities through longer-term programming through the sectors and bilaterally with other actors
• Provide regular status updates on responses across the country and respond to internal queries to support effective internal reporting and analysis, and media, communications and advocacy work
• Provide inputs for high quality and timely internal programme and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal Save the Children requirements and any relevant external donor requirements, and support with coordination and review of inputs from field teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, International Humanitarian law, or a related field 
• Four years, minimum, of humanitarian programme experience with INGOs
• Experience of working within a rapid-onset large emergency response with an aid organisation (including experience managing response at the field level), including in assessment, design and implementation of programming
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills 
• Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Outstanding coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels
• Willingness to learn and share information
• Demonstrated capacity to coordinate with multiple other stakeholders, including government authorities, community representatives, the UN and other humanitarian agencies
• Commitment to achieving the highest levels of safeguarding and accountability to affected populations
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a highly stressful and challenging environment
• Commitment to work longer hours/weekends when needed
• Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children, in particular, a good understanding of Save the Children’s mandate and child focus
