The Family Health International (FHI 360) is seeking to fill the role of Director, Monitoring and Evaluation.

FHI 360 delivers sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in monitoring and evaluation system design and implementation, and ensure overall management of the monitoring and evaluation department
  • Lead and provide technical inputs to improve and facilitate the delivery of sound technical assistance in monitoring and evaluation
  • Develop and implement appropriate guidelines to support USAID Nigeria, government of Nigeria counterparts and USAID’s implementing partners in conducting monitoring and evaluation and reporting results
  • Contribute to national data collection and information systems, ensuring data quality
  • Provide technical support to Nigerian government’s surveillance and public health evaluation efforts, and, upon request, collaborate closely with other major multilateral and bilateral partners to participate in the implementation and improvement of the national monitoring and evaluation effort in Nigeria
  • Provide overall management and provision of technical inputs to improve and facilitate the delivery of sound technical assistance and data quality in monitoring and evaluation
  • Facilitate deployment and use of electronic medical record system at FHI-supported sites
  • Take a leadership role in all QA/QI processes within FHI Nigeria and among FHI’s implementing agencies
  • Strengthen the capacity of the FHI monitoring and evaluation team, and of FHI technical staff in general
  • Foster FHI’s relationships with key counterparts at national level, especially from the National Action Committee on AIDS and the National AIDS and STI Control Programme
  • Supervise and support the data management, analysis and quality management-related initiative undertaken by monitoring and evaluation staff at the country office
  • In particular, provide guidance in the development and/or adaptation of monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Provide sound technical leadership in the FHI quality management system
  • Review, validate, share and present regular FHI monitoring and evaluation reports to be used by various stakeholders
  • Develop concept papers and research papers to improve and or extend existing monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Represent FHI at national and international events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • MB.BS/MD/PhD or similar degree with seven years, minimum, of relevant experience, with five years, minimum, of monitoring and evaluation experience at project-level or state/national-level
  • MS/MA in Demography, Economics or a related field with nine years, minimum, of monitoring and evaluation experience at project-level or state/national-level
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, NGOs and CBOs
  • Sound practical knowledge of statistics and the use of statistical software
  • Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training
