The African Centre for Economic Transformation has opened applications for its Young Leaders in Research Grant Programme.
The programme aims to support early-career African researchers in economics and related fields to lead policy-relevant, context-driven research that advances Africa’s transformation agenda.

- Selected participants will also gain the chance to publish and present their research, enhancing their visibility and contribution to policy discussions
Eligibility
- Applicants must be African nationals or applicants holding permanent residency in African countries
- A background in economics or related fields is required
- Demonstrated interest in research through coursework, internships, volunteer work, or personal projects, including participation in academic or community-based initiatives
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in Africa and beyond
- Applicants must be 35 years or younger at the time of application
- Have completed or be enrolled in a master’s degree or higher
