ACT Foundation Impacts 1.9 Million in Africa

Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation says it has impacted over 1.9 million vulnerable people in 29 states in Nigeria and five other African countries.

The newly registered member of the Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO) has declared its readiness to work with the network towards achieving more development goals in Africa.

ACT Foundation is the first NNNGO member in the sponsor category since the network was created in 2012; and with the registration of the foundation, the network’s membership strength is 3,033.

Established in 2016, the ACT is a grant making organisation that supports local, national and regional nonprofits working to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African continent.

‘We have a mandate to engage with stakeholders across various sectors who proffer solutions to challenges associated with host communities across our focus areas and to create a broad-based partnership with other institutions or donor organisations aimed at building sustainable communities’, the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Osayi Alile, said in a statement.

‘On these core values, we continuously seek opportunities to work with remarkable organisations and working groups such as Nigeria Network of NGOs (NNNGO) towards creating systemic change in Nigeria and across the African continent.

‘Although young, we have successfully impacted over 1.9 million beneficiaries in 29 states in Nigeria and other African countries which include South Africa, Ghana, Guinea, Cameroon and Kenya’.

Welcoming the foundation, the NNNGO Executive Director, Oluseyi Oyebisi, said, ‘ACT Foundation’s decision to join our membership in the sponsor category highlights the value the foundation places on the nonprofit sector and the understanding of the role of grant making organisations in strengthening the work of national associations like NNNGO to deliver critical initiatives, projects and programmes for the future of the nonprofit sector’.

The NNNGO is the first generic membership body for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Nigeria that facilitates effective advocacy on issues of poverty and other developmental issues.
