The World Vision International is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of People and Culture Human Resources Manager.
The mission of the organisation includes working with the poor and people who are oppressed and promoting human transformation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that HR strategy is developed and implemented in all areas of the organisation and in compliance with VF Zambia and VFI standards
- Make board presentations of P and C matters
- Provide strategic people support and advice on human resources issues
- Update the P and C manual on a per need basis, and ensure that all revision and addition to the policies are written in the employee handbook
- Inform all concerned staff the changes entered into the employee handbook/P and C manual
- Ensure that good insurance covers for staff are in place
- Review and update P and C policies, procedures and guidelines
- Contribute and advise on senior management strategic planning, with particular responsibility for HR needs, policies and procedures
- Prepare and submit annual budget and plan for the approval of the SMT and board as necessary
- Plan and implement P and C related procurement and services
- Responsible for ensuring a conducive and safe work environment for all staff
- Respond to and address audit queries and suggestions
- Develop letters of appointment, transfer, promotion, and the like, and send to the concerned staff after approval
- Conduct ‘due diligence’ or the ‘fit and proper’ test to assess the job applicant’s background and character
- Ensure that VF Zambia maintains a standardised and systematic hiring and recruitment process
- Develop or update hiring policies and procedures most appropriate to individual positions
Requirements
- Masters degree/postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal counseling and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of oral and written English
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Good trainer, facilitator, mentor and coach
- Experience in using various human resource information systems
- Good knowledge of WV and VFI Partnership (an added advantage)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Nationality of Zambia
