The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the role of Logistics Officer.
NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Follow standard NRC archiving procedure and ensure fleet documents archiving is done properly on the system and in hardcopy
- Be the focal person for the mission’s fleet management
- Centralise and handle vehicle maintenance at CO level
- Prepare and compile monthly fleet reports
- Analyse monthly fleet report and provide feedback to area offices
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of fleet management
- Be the focal person to communicate with area offices on fleet matters and ensure the requests are addressed timely
- Conduct technical inspection and ensure road worthiness of the vehicle before deploying to the filed
- Analyse monthly fleet report and provide constructive feedback to the area office logistics
- Ensure that the scheduled preventive maintenance service for NRC and UN plate vehicles is carried out
- Ensure vehicle-related reports are done through Terramar platform
- Follow up and resolve issues related to vehicle rental service providers, if any
- Monitor the movement of vehicle, ensuring that the logistics officer is in charge of fleet, and ensure that the logsheet reports are coherent
- Monitor the day-to-day fleet activities in collaboration with the logistics assistant
- Ensure the quality of reports before submission
- Perform other logistics functions as delegated by logistics manager
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics or a related field
- Three years, minimum, of experience in a procurement position, preferably with NGOs
- Ability to follow policies and procedures and work systematically
- Ability to use policies and procedures to solve problems, and be proactive in offering ideas and solutions
- Ability to maintain good relations with colleagues and suppliers, even in difficult circumstances, always maintaining professionalism when representing NRC
- Ability to work in a team, and motivate others, and participate actively in team meetings and discussions
- Ability to analyse information, prioritise and take decisions and responsibility for those decisions
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and use of email
- Strong English language skills
