Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Human Resources Officer.

NRC provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Implement the organisation’s HR systems and procedures at area level
• Ensure adherence to organisation’s policies and the national labour law in all processes and procedures
• Coordinate staff recruitment and exits, introduction, training, staff benefits schemes etc
• Work with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities, lawyers etc
• Prepare and submit periodic reports as appropriate
• Train and support line managers in HR processes
• Ensure that staff records are up-to-date and filed appropriately
• Ensure timely processing of the monthly payroll
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related field
• Three years, minimum, of experience in relevant areas
• Experienced working as HR officer in a humanitarian organisations
• Experienced working in complex and volatile areas
• Knowledge about own manager skills/profile
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector
• Strong administrative service orientation
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
• Nationality of Ethiopia
