The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Site Manager.
ICRC works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adapt, and maintain infrastructure according to needs in collaboration with the deputy logistics country manager
- Ensure the logistics procedures are managed following the institutional logistics standards and the logistics strategy for the country
- Act as focal point for all logistics management and activities within sub-delegation
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor activities of the logistics team in Mubi, Yola and Biu offices
- Conduct market analysis and research into the availability of goods and services for Mubi, Yola and Biu local markets
- Monitor warehouse’s responsible storage conditions to ensure that adapted hygiene and warehousing standard levels are constantly applied for protection from heat, freezing, water, fire, dirt, vermin, and rodents
- Ensure well-functioning of the fleet team, including adequate use of the driver’s roster, monitoring compensations and holidays
- Take all necessary steps to ensure that the car dispatcher is implementing the delegation’s security rules in the dispatch of vehicles and/or during field trips
- Ensure that requesters respect all the logistics procedures while initiating their orders
- Discuss with the supply chain coordinator and the warehouse responsible to optimise the replenishment of the warehouse
- Ensure collaborative demand planning is carried out with the departments and that information is shared with the sub-delegation and the deputy logistics country manager
- Follow up on the supply pipeline with the sub-delegation and delegation in Abuja/Jos, including import-export activities where necessary
- Make sure that ICRC rules on financial management about necessary approvals before committing ICRC financially are followed and respected
- Manage finances for cost centres
- Check and validate invoices from suppliers with respect to the financial rules of the delegation according to the agreed financial threshold
- Maintain and ensure proper use of general and specialised logistics I.T. tools
- Ensure timely and proper handling and submission of procurement files in ProFiles
- Ensure that the logistics department follows up on the sub-delegation security rules
Requirements
- University degree in Logistics or a relevant field
- Six years, minimum, of work experience, preferably in commercial or humanitarian logistics, including management experience
- Good command (spoken and written) of English and Hausa
- Humanitarian field experience is an asset
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of specialised software
